because she went with me to see wolfsheim and we were the only ones not wearing black or stripes. we parked a street away from the theatre in hollywood and drank raspberry vodka straight from the bottle and then we danced and danced - the slinky industrial dance of the goth kids even though i was definitely wearing something pink and hello kitty. i wish i could go back to those days wiser and really really live them.

but lately i've been more in love with new york than ever
i think i need a new website - thats the real way to reinvent yourself in this day and age. did yoga this morning which improves everything, even though i ate red meat after wards and am about to start drinking wine while i work on some re-writes for my upcoming reading at franklin park. i'm going to take a glass of wine with me in the shower. don't worry i'm fine.

the soft pack last night was brilliant! review on pomp soon. also going to review tao lin's new book on pomp soon too! so much to write as the clock goes tick tick tick like a time bomb. like a time bomb new york envelopes me. i am poised for explosion.

i can't tell if i just need to take a shower or if i'm itching to get out of my skin. i got all emotional last night for good reason. friends of mine are leaving - namely a very special girl named kristin who although we haven't spent much time together the times we have spent have been meaningful and that holds a TON of weight in this town and i suppose in general. gonna miss ya girl! but i'm serious about going to vietnam!

this morning a girl looked like a super hero on the train with thigh high boots and tights and just a flannel that wasn't flannel but just plaid. she was reading a book called the rings of saturn and had ipod headphones in. now she is a character in this blog entry.

i need sleep.

the walk from royals to my house is short but long - tonite i did it barefoot at 1:30 am staring down at the road opening before my feet dodging glass and looking for rats. i only saw a kitten and two people the entire walk: one lady talking to a person i couldn't see in a car and another lady who was blowing smoke out her slightly open door. they both smiled at me and it made me feel safe. i don't think the walk is particularly dangerous but just today a man came into my office to say that he was mugged the night before on 27th and 2nd avenue and wanted to warn us in case we walked on 2nd. no weapons but he was kicked around a bit. well patrick swayze died, kanye is misguided and royal rocked his first reading. life happens, i made it home, tossed the treacherous platforms out of my purse and took a shower taking extra care to clean the bottom of my feet.
